We are excited to say we are now part of Mansfield Methodist Church – a new society, joining together the communities from Bridge Street Methodist Church and Big Barn Lane Methodist Church. For the time being, we will be worshipping at the site on Big Barn Lane. You would be very welcome to join us at 10:15 on a Sunday morning! Due to the current restrictions, numbers for worship are limited, so please do email BBLbooking@virginmedia.com to book your spaces. Keep an eye out for a new website for Mansfield Methodist Church too!
We have joined with our friends from Bethel and Big Barn Lane Methodist Churches to host a Nativity Festival during the weekend of Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th December.
The Church will be open from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and from 12noon to 4pm on Sunday for people to take a break from the Christmas bustle and discover the history of the Nativity Scene whilst viewing traditional and not so traditional scenes of Jesus’ birth displayed in our beautiful Victorian chapel.
We will be serving bacon rolls and mince pies, offering the opportunity to join in with some communal carol singing with crafts, tombola and games available to have a go at too!
Following the festival will be our Nativity and Christingle Service at 4pm on Sunday 15th December where all are welcome to join us in celebrating Christ’s birth.

The walk will start from the airport and head to Palma, Santa Maria, Alaro, Puerto Pollensa, Alcudia, back to Palma and return to airport – a total of 72 miles. Brian & Michael will start to walk on the day they land at the airport. It will take them seven days to complete the walk at roughly ten miles per day.
All money raised will go directly to Bridge Street Methodist Church for their work in providing the Soup Kitchen. Bridge Street Methodist Church Soup Kitchen provides meals for all vulnerable people in the centre of Mansfield every Monday and Friday evening. Unfortunately we see around 40-50 clients every session at our soup kitchen. Whilst not all of these are traditional rough sleepers, all our clients are vulnerable adults with many sleeping on friend’s sofas or being moved from temporary accommodation to temporary accommodation. Our soup kitchen at Bridge Street is run solely from donations from the general public and the generous time that our volunteers kindly give. Through this generosity we have provided over 10,000 meals in the four years we have been running.

Following some heating problems in our main church building, and a wonderful joint service with our friends from Bethel Methodist Church in Mansfield, I am delighted to say that the heating is now working well again. So you will be sure to receive a warm welcome when you come to the various activities and services we have going on during the week.
Hi Folks – we have been monitoring the weather reports, its looking extremely likely there will be significant Snow Fall in and around Mansfield from 6/7am tomorrow morning, right through to the evening. Having spoken with the Stewards We have taken the decision to Cancel both the Morning Service (10th December 10.30am) and Messy Christmas (12pm). This is not a decision taken likely, but we believe that Rock Valley, and the vehicular access to Bridge Street will be icy and snowy tomorrow morning, and rather than putting people at risk, we wanted to take an early decision. We hope that you are able to enjoy the snow safely, and we look forward to welcoming you to our services over Christmas, especially Sunday 17th December at 5pm for our Nativity and Christingle Service. The advice is clear that from 6am tomorrow you should not travel unless you absolutely have to. Please stay safe, with Every Blessing Rev John Yarrien.
We knitted over 350 Angels, and now they have all be tagged up, with an invitation to our very special Nativity and Christingle Service on Sunday 17th December at 5pm. We are ready to send them out all over Mansfield. If you Find an angel, take a photo of where you found it and post it to our Facebook page (Bridge Street Methodist Church Mansfield). Take the angel and bring it along with you to the service, and we will bless all the angels during the service. We look forward to welcoming you to Bridge Street this Christmas, if we dont see you, have a very blessed and peaceful Christmas, and a very Happy 2018.
